SF JACL Participates in 5th Annual Japantown Pride Flag Raising

SFJACL participated and sponsored the 5th annual Japantown pride flag raising on June 6, hosted by the Japantown Rainbow Coalition. The event was held first at Osaka Way, then moved up to the Konko Church of San Francisco for the flag raising.

The event reaffirmed Japantown as welcoming to all LGBTQ+ people and hosted a variety of speakers, among them SFJACL President Judy Hamaguchi.

Featured were traditional dance and taiko drum performances, a drag performance by Kristi Yamikochi, and song performance by Chinatown-based artist and Japantown Task Force staff seba chang. Follow them here.
